Drivers' Hand Prints

Winning Drivers Handprints Ceremony CHANGE OF DAY

NOT SURE ABOUT 2024 nothing out so far  wef 1 June

1800-1830 Town Centre - St Nicolas Square ?

In the quaint language (& spelling!) of the very efficient Le Mans Tourist Office - "Hot spot during your visit to Le Mans ! Footprints and handprints drivers arranged in town centre of Le Mans immortalised in bronze and on the floor the winners of "Le Mans 24 Hours."

"Since March 1991 the association "Footprint Winners" merchants of Saint-Nicolas district and Le Mans honour the winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Each year, after the race, the drivers have won the 24 Hours are invited to submit their handprints in plaster. These impressions are moulded during the weighing of cars and at the finish of the race. This moulded plate as a car wheel also contains driver signing and the year of their victory. They are then cast in bronze by the Art Foundry Philippe Macheret in Sarthe to be sealed on the sidewalks of the streets of Saint-Nicolas neighbourhood. Do not miss the "Hollywood Boulevard" major automobile drivers at Le Mans!"
